How to connect the cube(s) hosted in Azure Analysis Services to a dashboard?


With Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services data connection type, you can connect to a cube hosted in Azure Analysis Services.

In Dashboard Designer, click the Add Data source button.

In the New Connection dialog, enter a data source name and select the connection type as Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services.

Set the authentication type and enter the credentials accordingly. Further, select the database that you need to connect and test its connection. If it succeeds, proceed to connect by clicking the “Connect button.

NOTE: For Azure Analysis Services, only Server Authentication is applicable.

After the connection is established, you will be directed to the data design view window. Here you can drag and drop any cube.

Moving back to the Dashboard Designer, drag and drop any control into design panel and click Assign Data.

You can bind the widget column by dragging and dropping the elements from Measures and Dimensions section to Column(s) section.
