How to set default values in dashboard widgets

We can select the default value in the dashboard designer’s filter and master widgets. 

Below steps shows how to preselect (default) value in widgets.

Filter widgets:

  1. In Dashboard designer create combo box and bind the data. 
  2. In Immediate preview of widget designing area, select single or multiple value that you want to load by default in viewer.

 

The below image shows ‘1998’ is selected as default value in the combo box.

  1. Check it with designer preview or in published server. Now the report will render with the selected value as default.

 

The below image shows the report rendered in viewer with the preselected value of combo box. 

 

With default value:

Selected value displayed as a default value in controls.

Without default value:

 

Selected value is not displayed as a default value in controls.  

 

Master widgets:

  1. In Dashboard designer create a grid and bind the data. 
  2. In Immediate preview of widget designing area, select a row and depending on this row’s dimension value, its slave controls will be filtered by default.

 

The below image shows the ‘Alabama’ state row is selected as default value in the grid.

  1. Check it with designer preview or in published server. Now the report will render with the selected value as default. 

      

 

The below images show the report render in viewer with the preselected value of grid. 

 

With default value:

 

In Viewer Alabama state as a default value.

Without default value:

In Viewer Alabama state as not a default value
