SfDataGrid allows you to perform grouping by defining the GroupColumnDescription object and adding it in the SfdataGrid.GroupColumnDescriptions collection.

You can group by a column that is not in the column collection by simply adding the property to be grouped GroupColumnDescription and skip adding the column in the SfDataGrid.Columns collection.

You can skip adding a column in the SfDataGrid.Columns collections by manually defining the columns by setting SfDataGrid.AutoGenerateColumns as False. You can also skip adding a column using the AutoGeneratingColumn event for automatically generated columns.

The below code illustrates how to group by a column that is not defined in the SfDataGrid.Columns collection.
