How to set the custom text in WPF MultiColumnDropDownControl?

1 min read

In WPF MultiColumnDropDownControl, the editor value will be displayed based on SfMultiColumnDropDownControl.SelectedItem and SfMultiColumnDropDownControl.DisplayMember property. You can display the custom value instead of selected item using SfMultiColumnDropDownControl.Text property like the below code example.

XAML

 <syncfusion:SfMultiColumnDropDownControl x:Name="MultiColumnControl"
                                                 Width="175"
                                                 Height="25"
                                                 VerticalAlignment="Top"
                                                 ItemsSource="{Binding EmployeeDetails}">
            <syncfusion:SfMultiColumnDropDownControl.Columns>
                <syncfusion:GridTextColumn MappingName="EmployeeName" />
                <syncfusion:GridTextColumn MappingName="EmployeeAge" />
                <syncfusion:GridTextColumn MappingName="EmployeeArea" />
                <syncfusion:GridTextColumn MappingName="EmployeeGender" />
                <syncfusion:GridTextColumn MappingName="ExperienceInMonth" />
                <syncfusion:GridNumericColumn MappingName="EmployeeSalary" />
            </syncfusion:SfMultiColumnDropDownControl.Columns>
            <interactivity:Interaction.Behaviors>
                <local:Behaviour />
            </interactivity:Interaction.Behaviors>
        </syncfusion:SfMultiColumnDropDownControl>

C#

public class Behaviour : Behavior<SfMultiColumnDropDownControl>
{
    protected override void OnAttached()
    {
        this.AssociatedObject.SelectionChanged += AssociatedObject_SelectionChanged;
    }

    void AssociatedObject_SelectionChanged(object sender, SelectionChangedEventArgs args)
    {
        //Display the text value in SfMultiColumnDropDownControl.
        this.AssociatedObject.Text = args.SelectedIndex  +  " item of OrderID" ;
    }

    protected override void OnDetaching()
    {
        this.AssociatedObject.SelectionChanged -= AssociatedObject_SelectionChanged;
    }
}
