How to add HTTP handlers in the OlapChart and OlapGrid when a sample is hosted in the IIS Server?

Platform: ASP.NET Web Forms (Classic) |
Control: OlapChart |
Published Date: May 15, 2015 |
Last Revised Date: July 2, 2019

This KB illustrates that how to add HTTP handlers in the OlapChart and OlapGrid.

Solution

To add HTTP handlers in the OlapChart and OlapGrid when a sample is hosted in the IIS Server, refer to the following code sample.

Handlers

OLAP Chart control uses HttpHandler, by default, to procure the images of chart, label, and legend, each time. Therefore, it is required to include the ChartWebHandler in the handler section of the web.config file.

OLAP Grid control uses HttpHandler, by default, to procure data from the OLAP server on member drill-down and header cell tooltip. Therefore, it requires OlapDataHandler to be included in the handler section of the web.config file.

Note:

You can avoid “broken image problem in OlapChart” and “tooltip problem in OlapGrid” by adding handlers into the web.config file.

WEB.CONFIG

Classic Mode:
<configuration>
  <system.web>
    <httpHandlers>
      <add verb="GET" path="*UpdateOlap*" type="Syncfusion.Web.UI.WebControls.Grid.Olap.Handlers.OLAPDataHandler, Syncfusion.OlapGrid.Web,Version=13.1400.0.21, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=3d67ed1f87d44c89"/>
      <add path="syncfusion_generate.ashx" verb="*" type="Syncfusion.Web.UI.WebControls.Chart.ChartWebHandler,Syncfusion.Chart.Web, Version= 13.1400.0.21, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=3d67ed1f87d44c89"/>
    </httpHandlers>
  </system.web>
  <system.webServer>
    <handlers>
      <add name="OLAPChart" path="syncfusion_generate.ashx" verb="*" type="Syncfusion.Web.UI.WebControls.Chart.ChartWebHandler,Syncfusion.Chart.Web, Version=13.1400.0.21, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=3d67ed1f87d44c89" />

</ configuration>

    <httpHandlers>
