How to install the VSIX packages manually?

Note:

Applicable for earlier version 15.2.0.40 (2017 Essential Studio Volume 2). From the 2017 Essential Studio Volume 2 release, Syncfusion provides the VSIX installer for install the Syncfusion VSIX packages.

 

While installing the Syncfusion products, the Syncfusion Extensions are installed automatically in Visual Studio. In case, Syncfusion extension is not installed properly or disabled in your Visual Studio, ensure the installed and enabled Syncfusion extensions or install it in your Visual Studio by perform following steps:
1. Navigate Tools -> Extensions and Updates in your Visual Studio. 
2. Choose Installed tab and check for the enabled Syncfusion extensions. Installed Tab in Extensions and Updates wizard
3. If the extension is not available in the Extension Manager, install the VSIX by using Syncfusion InstallMVCExtension tool, that is available in the Syncfusion installed location.

Location: {Drive}:\Program Files (x86)\Syncfusion\Essential Studio\{Version}\Utilities\Extensions

For e.g.,: C:\Program Files (x86)\Syncfusion\Essential Studio\13.1.0.21\Utilities\Extensions

If the tool exists, uninstall and install the Syncfusion Extensions. To use the InstallMVCExtension tool, refer to the following steps:

  1. If a patch is provided for any of the Extensions, then replace with the mentioned location, or ignore this step.
  2. Open the Windows Command Prompt in admin mode.
  3. Navigate to the above-mentioned location and launch the InstallMVCExtension.exe tool with the required platform names (the extensions have to be reinstalled) as arguments.

When multiple platforms are to be replaced, separate the platform names with comma. The tool is launched and uninstalls the older extensions and reinstalls the new one.

For example, when you give “ASP.NET MVC, WINDOWS” as arguments, the tool uninstalls and reinstalls all extensions of the ASP.NET MVC and Windows Forms platforms within a minute.. To know more refer to the following screenshot. ASP.NET MVC Extension reinstall by Syncfusion InstallMVCExtension tool
