How to handle parameterless constructor exception while assigning the DataSource in WinForms ?

1 min read

Problem:

When the DataSource for the Grid is an IBindingList collection having a class without constructor to populate the list, then it raises the No Parameterless constructor defined for this object, MissingMethod exception.

Solution:

To avoid the MissingMethod exception, create an empty constructor. Then, the No parameterless constructor defined for this object exception is ignored. In the given sample, the class called Person has an Empty constructor to handle this.

C#

public class Person
{
    //Empty Parameterized constructor.
    public Person()
    {
    }
}

VB

Public Class Person
   'Empty Parameterized constructor.
   Public Sub New()
   End Sub
End Class
