How to load custom configuration settings for a language that already has prebuilt configuration settings in WinForms SyntaxEditor (EditControl)?

Custom language configuration setting

It is possible to set your own custom configuration settings for languages that already have pre-defined configuration settings. You could do so using the code below:

C#

// We have considered SQL as an example here
this.editControl1.LoadFile(filePath);
this.editControl1.Configurator.Open(configPath);
this.editControl1.ApplyConfiguration("CustomSQL");

VB

' We have considered SQL as an example here
Me.editControl1.LoadFile(filePath)
Me.editControl1.Configurator.Open(configPath)
Me.editControl1.ApplyConfiguration("CustomSQL")

Note:

The custom configuration settings have to be applied after the SQL file is loaded into the EditControl. Because, when the SQL file is loaded the EditControl automatically detects the file extension and applies the default configuration settings.
