How to set thinner Grid lines in spreadsheets like Excel?

1 min read

By default, GridLines look thicker in SpreadsheetControl than MS Excel. However when you want to change that into thinner grid lines, like MS Excel, then you can set the UseGuidelineSetToRenderBorder property of GridControl to True. You can get the GridControl from spreadsheet by subscribing the WorkbookLoaded and WorkSheetAdded events of SpreadsheetControl like the following code snippet.

WorkbookLoaded Event:

C#

this.spreadSheetControl.WorkBookLoaded += spreadSheetControl_WorkBookLoaded;
void spreadSheetControl_WorkBookLoaded(object sender, WorkbookLoadedEventArgs args)
{
    foreach (var grid in args.GridCollection)
    {
        grid.UseGuidelineSetToRenderBorder = true;
    }
}

WorkSheetAdded Event:

C#

this.spreadSheetControl.WorkSheetAdded += spreadSheetControl_WorkSheetAdded;
void spreadSheetControl_WorkSheetAdded(object sender, WorkSheetAddedEventArgs args)
{
    var grid = this.spreadSheetControl.GridProperties.ActiveSpreadsheetGrid;
    grid.UseGuidelineSetToRenderBorder = true;
}
