How to separate text from special characters in WinForms SyntaxEditor (EditControl)?

1 min read

Separate the text

In Edit control, you can separate the text from special characters like “,” by using the Split() method.

C#

string sentence = this.editControl1.Text;
string[] seperate = Regex.Split(sentence, @",");
List<string> storetext = new List<string>();
foreach (string value in seperate)
{
    storetext.Add(value);
}
string joinstring = string.Join("\n", storetext);
this.editControl1.Text = joinstring;

VB

Dim sentence As String = Me.editControl1.Text
Dim seperate() As String = Regex.Split(sentence, ",")
Dim storetext As List(Of String) = New List(Of String)
For Each value As String In seperate
    storetext.Add(value)
Next
    Dim joinstring As String = String.Join("" & vbLf, storetext)
Me.editControl1.Text = joinstring
