Multiple copies of controls in VS2010 toolbox

This issue is due to several third-party components installed on the machine. To fix it:

  1. Close all instances of Visual Studio.
  2. Remove all *.tbd files except toolbox.tbd from the following folder: On Windows XP machines: C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\VisualStudio\10.0 On Vista/Windows 7 machines: C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\10.0
  3. Re-open Visual Studio and reset the toolbox.

To configure Syncfusion controls in the toolbox:

  1. Run the toolbox configuration utility from the Syncfusion Dashboard.  From the Start menu, select Syncfusion -> Essential studio x.x.x.x. When the Dashboard opens, select Utilities > Toolbox Configuration.
  2. Re-open Visual Studio.
