How to know dragging has been started or stopped in WinForms Docking Manager?

Platform: WinForms |
Control: DockingManager |
Published Date: April 30, 2011 |
Last Revised Date: December 5, 2019

Drag events

Dragging status can be obtained by handling the DragFeedbackStart and DragFeedbackStop events. These events get fired when the splitter controls associated with any docked controls are dragged.

The DragFeedBackStart event will get fire before the drag operation and DragFeedbackStop event will get fire after the drag operation.

The DockingManager.DragFeedBackEventsOnSplitter property holds the value to enable or disable the DragFeedBack events upon dragging splitters. Please refer the below code snippet which illustrates this.

C#

this.dockingManager1.DragFeedbackEventsOnSplitters = true;
this.dockingManager1.DragFeedbackStart += new EventHandler(dockingManager1_DragFeedbackStart);
this.dockingManager1.DragFeedbackStop += new EventHandler(dockingManager1_DragFeedbackStop);
public void dockingManager1_DragFeedbackStart(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
   MessageBox.Show("Dragging has been started");
}
public void dockingManager1_DragFeedbackStop(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
{
    MessageBox.Show("Dragging has been stopped");
}

VB

Me.DockingManager1.DragFeedbackEventsOnSplitters = True
AddHandler DockingManager1.DragFeedbackStart, AddressOf dockingManager1_DragFeedbackStart
AddHandler DockingManager1.DragFeedbackStop, AddressOf DockingManager1_DragFeedbackStop
Public Sub dockingManager1_DragFeedbackStart(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs)
    MessageBox.Show("Dragging has been started")
End Sub
Public Sub dockingManager1_DragFeedbackStop(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
    MessageBox.Show("Dragging has been stopped")
End Sub
