Create Syncfusion Virtual Directories in IIS manually

  • Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > IIS
  • Select Local Computer > Web Sites > Default Web Site.
  • Right click Default Web Site -> New -> Virtual Directory. The Virtual Directory Creation Wizard opens. Click Next.
  • In the "Virtual Directory Alias" wizard page, type the alias name as "syncfusion1_1". Click next.
  • In the "Web Site Content Directory" wizard page, browse to the directory where Syncfusion version 4.1.0.50 has been installed. For eg., "C:\Program Files\Syncfusion\Essential studio\4.1.0.50". Click Next.
  • In the "Access Permissions" page , the "Read" and "Run scripts" checkboxes are checked by default. Click Next.

Now the Virtual directory has been created successfully. Click Finish to see the directory under the "Default Web Site".

Steps to test the Visual Studio 2003 samples :

Select the Virtual Directory that has been created and browse to the "web" folder. Select any product node, say Tools.web->Samples->1.1->AutoComplete->DataSetSample->cs.

Right Click on the "CS" folder select "Properties". In the "CS properties" window -"Directory" tab, click the "Create" button to make it as an IIS application. Then click "Apply" and "Ok".

  • Do the same for the vb project to test it.

Similarly create another Virtual Directory with the alias name "syncfusion2_0" for the same physical directory as selected before. Make the cs and vb folders under the "2.0" directory as IIS applications in order to test the Visual Studio 2005 samples.

Then create another Virtual Directory for the same physical directory with the alias name "Syncfusion" and make the "samplebrowserasp" folder under the "Infrastructure" directory as an IIS application.

Create one more Virtual Directory "sfsampleres" for the path "C:\Program Files\Syncfusion\Essential Studio\4.1.0.50\Infrastructure\SampleBrowserASP\resources"

Now test the individual samples for which, IIS applications have been created in IIS.
