How to programmatically show or hide docking windows in WinForms Docking Manager?

Platform: WinForms |
Control: DockingManager

Show or hide docking windows

The DockingManager.SetDockVisibility() method may be used to show or hide docking windows.

The following code checks the visibility state of the listBox1 docking window and if the control is hidden, shows it:

private void button1_Click(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
    if( this.dockingManager1.GetDockVisibility(this.panel1) == false )
       this.dockingManager1.SetDockVisibility(this.panel1, true);
       this.dockingManager1.SetDockVisibility(this.panel1, false);

Private Sub button1_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles button1.Click
    If Me.dockingManager1.GetDockVisibility(Me.panel1) = False Then
       Me.dockingManager1.SetDockVisibility(Me.panel1, True)
       Me.dockingManager1.SetDockVisibility(Me.panel1, False)
    End If
End Sub

Hi, In current version we don't have setDockVisibility method enymore. But we have pretty cool method DockingManager.SetState(Content1, DockState.Hidden); We can choose from many:
  • AutoHidden
  • Dock
  • Document
  • Float
DockingManager.SetState(ccDescription, DockState.Hidden); - to hide, DockingManager.SetState(ccDescription, DockState.Hidden); - to show. Yarek.

Is there a way to bind this Property in a simple way. I currently use a competitors product and the it is pretty easy just like <....IsHidden="{Binding IsChecked}"...

This enables a straight forward way to have a list of CheckBoxButtons which are use to show / hide windows.
I tried this here (using a converter bool to Float / Hidden) but restoring places the floating (on different monitor) window right above the parent window (changing the size also).

Furhter problem with this approach - while (with the competitor) setting Hidden true / false maintains the state (docked, pinned, floating, document...).
I found no solution to achive this here without code behind (including to save the state before close to enable a proper "reopen").
