ejDialog sizing w/ejGrid filterType excel

i have an ejDialog set as a modal, containing an ejGrid.  when i click on the grid's excel filter, the size changes and gets cut off on the modal. 

is there a way to make the modal contain the entire grid + filter without scrolling?
