Thanks for contacting Syncfusion support. 

According to your screenshot, we suspect that you are using Data table in your sample. So, we created a sample in Data table and checked with DataOperations(filtering). In our sample we did not face any exceptions while filtering with startswith and contains operator.  

To reproduce the mentioned issue we need the following details, 

1. Code example of a Grid and controller. 

2. Share the filterType that you are using in your sample(E.g Menu, Excel).  

3. Share the video demonstration of an issue. 

4. Essential Studio Version details. 

5. If possible, replicate the issue in the attached sample.
