Sample not saving correctly in xls or xlsx format

I really like the Spreadsheet component.

But when I try to save even a very simple sample to xls or xlsx, and then open it with MS Office, it throws an error message saying that the format is incorrect.

To recreate the issue, open the sample from the Syncfusion website, and try to save it to the desktop in either format.

The use case is someone who uses Syncfusion Speadsheet Silverlight to create or edit a document, and then emails it to someone who has MS Office and then wants to open or edit it.

Thanks for using Syncfusion product.


We have fixed the reported issue “Sample not saving correctly in xls or xlsx format” and this fix will be included in our next Volume 1 release 2013. you can upgrade to Volume 1 release 2013 which will be released in first week of February 2013.


Please let us know if any other concerns.
