Performance issues with SfPdfViewer in .NET MAUI (slow rendering and scrolling lag)

Hi,
I am developing a .NET MAUI application that works extensively with PDF documents, and I am experiencing several performance issues with the SfPdfViewer on Android.

I am describing them in detail because I need to understand whether there is a solution, a recommended configuration, or if these are known limitations of the viewer.

  1. Slow page loading while scrolling
    Even with moderate scrolling, after the first 3-4 pages the viewer starts slowing down and takes noticeably longer to load the next page.

The user sees:

  • loading indicators

  • blank pages

  • or a visible delay before the content is rendered

This issue occurs even with non-heavy PDFs.

  1. UI freezes when a new page starts loading
    When the viewer needs to load a page that has not been rendered yet, the UI freezes for about 0.5-1 second, completely blocking user interaction.

This can be reproduced as follows:

  • Scroll to a page that is not yet loaded

  • When the loading indicator appears

  • Try to scroll again

At this point, scrolling becomes completely blocked until the page finishes loading.
