SfBottomSheet binding seem to break in release mode

Im using the sfbottomsheet in a number of views, and it works fine in debug. But when we build for release it fails.  We have the bottomsheet IsOpen bound to our viewmodel so we can open it from code. It works one time, and then never opens again, binding mode is explicitly set to twoway.  This only happens in release.
