We have noticed that a node using an SVG shape will always appear above nodes which are not, even if they have a lower z-index.

See the attached example. The SVG node has a z-index of 0 and the circle node has a z-index of 1. The SVG node appears to be above the circle but when you try to select the SVG, the circle is selected.
