Feature Description:

Currently, the Syncfusion EJ2 OLAP Pivot Table supports only the Excel-like layout, which corresponds to Excel's Compact form. In this layout, summary cells are displayed beside each parent member, with child members appearing next to them in the Pivot Table UI.

In contrast, Microsoft Excel and Power BI also offer a Classic layout (also known as the Tabular form), where summary cells are placed below each parent member, and child members appear beside them. Similar to Excel, we aim to introduce this Tabular layout option in the Syncfusion OLAP Pivot Table. Please refer to the attached screenshot for a visual reference.

When implementing this Tabular layout, we must also ensure compatibility with key Pivot Table features such as virtual scrolling, selection, summary customization, templates, and exporting—functionality that is already fully supported in the current Compact layout.

Note: The Syncfusion EJ2 Pivot Table already supports the Classic layout for relational data sources. Our goal is to extend this support to OLAP data sources as well.

Customer query:-

Hello,

We were tracking this feature and expected its availability in the 2024 Vol 4 release. However, the final version is only supported with relational data sources and works exclusively with a client-side engine (see your technical documentation).

Nothing in this feature request was excluding OLAP datasources :

We really need tabular layout for OLAP datasources like Excel can do.
