While using enum Dropdownlist , the selected value is not updated properly

After selecting an enum value in the dropdown, the bound value is not updated or retained.

Replication Procedure:
  1. Select an enum value from the dropdown.
  2. Select another option again and again. 
  3. See the issue ( Please see attached gif for more info ) 

Expected Output:
The selected enum value should be reflected and retained in the component’s Value property .

Current Output:
The selection appears briefly but does not persist in the bound model .
