Can't select text inside gantt chart with cursor without triggering drag and drop

Configuring the drag and drop as suggested here: 

65597 Bug

 fixes the issue of the drag being started but entirely disables text selection including using Shift and Arrow to select.  Is it possible to make it so that we can either disable dragging and dropping while in edit or have a setting to drag and drop from the drag icon column only?
