A Boolean flag can be used to track modifications in a diagram when properties or elements change. This includes changes in nodes (size, position, style), connectors (color, routing, thickness), and annotations (text, position, edits). Additionally, adding/removing nodes or connectors, as well as interactions like dragging, resizing, and undo/redo actions, can trigger updates to the flag.
