The classic layout in the Syncfusion Pivot Table provides a structured, tabular presentation of data, enhancing both readability and usability. In this layout, fields in the row axis are displayed side by side in separate columns, making data interpretation and analysis more straightforward. All other features of the Pivot Table—such as filtering, sorting, drag-and-drop, expand/collapse functionality, and more—remain consistent with the compact layout, which is the default hierarchical format of the Pivot Table.
However, there are certain limitations in the classic layout, as it currently does not support the following features:
- Hiding row subtotals
- Positioning column subtotals at the top
- Displaying values in rows
- Text wrapping
- Allowing column resizing
- Fitting columns to content
- Aligning headers and content
- Customizing header and content height/width
To improve the usability of the classic layout, it is essential to provide support for these features.
