Selected Item Count for DataGrids

I recently worked on a feature to attempt to add an item selection count to your grids using RowSelected and RowDeselected events. The delay this caused in the grids was significant. I did some testing locally and in most cases the time was delayed by 2-3x or more. Having an item selection count on a grid is a basic feature and the fact that it caues such a delay on your grid is concerning. Please implement this from your side.
