Mention Component Requires White Space to Work with Textarea

Description: After selecting a mention and typing the trigger character @ again, the suggestion list fails to appear unless a white space is entered before the trigger character. In other components, such as the Rich Text Editor (RTE) or div, the mention is triggered without needing a white space.

Replication Steps:

  1. Focus on the textarea element.
  2. Type @ and select one of the suggestions.
  3. Type @ again – nothing happens, and the mention element is not triggered.


Expected Behavior: The suggestion list should appear without requiring any white space.


Actual Behavior: The Mention component requires a white space to work with the textarea.
