Tooltip jumps up and down when shown

When the tooltip is displayed on hover, it will spawn right below the mouse, then move upwards until the bottom of the tooltip is aligned with the top of the element that triggers the hover. It usually does this a few times in a row. When the mouse is moved even the tiniest bit again, this behaviour is displayed again. This causes the tooltip to become quite unusable.

This behaviour was not present before I reported that the tooltip animation did not work a few months ago. After installing the package with the fix, this was the new behaviour.


I suspect it is being caused by the tooltip not being aware of the height of the content, considering the component inside the ng-template might not have been initialised yet. This jumping up and down behaviour does not occur when the element inside the ng-template element has a static height (in my case I gave it empty data).
