SfComboBox control - issue with selected item and whitespace padding

SfCombobox control in WinForms v26.1462.35.0 behaves as shown in the attached images.  It's like there's whitespace padding applying. This is straight from control being dragged from the toolbox without any modifications to properties.

Project is in VB.NET - .NET Framework 4.8.

I've recreated a new project and behaviour persists. The same control in WinForms v22  didn't have this issue.
