ColumnSpan does not work correctly in Data Form

If I want to rendere a form with the first field on the whole row and then the following 2 by 2, you put the 3rd field in the wrong div having a wrong result.
Eg. I want

Department
firstname    lastname
DoB              Country

See attach for the result; as you see, the firstname field is put in a div with department and lastname field is put under it.
