Hello,
While testing the Scheduler component with a screen reader (NVDA), I noticed a mismatch between the visual date/time text of a recurring event button and the aria-label text that is read by screen readers.
For example, in your demo located here:
https://blazor.syncfusion.com/demos/scheduler/recurrence-events?theme=fluent
There is a Scrum Meeting event in the Monday column of January 9th, with a time of 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM. When I navigated to the event with a screen reader (NVDA), it reads "Scrum meeting begin from Friday January 6, 2023 9:30 AM, ends at Friday January 6, 2023 10:30 AM".
The screen reader is reading the aria-label text, which does not match the same visual information presented to sighted users. This might be confusing to screen reader users and could be an accessibility issue per the WCAG 1.3.1 and WCAG 2.5.3 criteria.
Ideally, the same information that is communicated to sighted users would be communicated to assistive technology like screen readers. Information, such as the correct date, event location, and whether it is recurring/series, would provide necessary context to assistive technology that sighted users already have.
Is there a way this can be improved?
If you need more information, please let me know. Thank you!
