Text cursor is not visible for transparent background color Freetext annotation

2) Secondly when trying to edit any of the existing text boxes in this PDF you can't see the text cursor, so you can't see where you are typing / deleting text. This only applies to the existing text boxes on the page. It is okay with new text boxes?  any reason for this?
