DocumentEditor gets unresponsive when typing / text selection issues

Platform: vue3

Package:  ej2-vue-documenteditor (21.1.35 & 21.1.37)


Details:

The DocumentEditor gets really slow after typing just a few lines of text and becomes unresponsive at a certain point. Even documents with just 1-5 are very unresponsive and its pretty much impossible to really use the editor. 

Same goes for selecting text. It is very clunky and usally not selecting the text following that you are selecting with the mouse cursor (selection is jumping around or selecting whole paragraphs instead of what you select using your mouse cursor).

All of this works just fine in the JavaScript control.


This somehow seems to be related to this issue (https://www.syncfusion.com/forums/179573/slow-typing-when-the-dom-is-large), but for the JavaScript UI Controls it seems to be fixed according to the linked post.


Steps to Reproduce

  • type a few words / sentences (will become slower every second)
  • keep a key on your keyboard pressed (will become slower and unresponsive at a certain time)
  • try to select text according to the mouse cursor
