Multiselect Control - Popup stays even if the control is destroyed

When using the multiselect control (ejs-multiselect) in "Box" mode, the pop-up remains and does not close even if the component is destroyed.

First click in the component and add something, than click outside the component that the popup closes.

After that click again inside the component, the popup shows again. But from now it cant be closed any more.

It is also not possible to get the mouse cursor inside the control again to write and add another value. (allowCustomValue is set to true)
