Support to change the position of the sort icon

Currently the sort icon in data grid must be trailing (on the right) but when displaying numbers its common to right align the data and column heading. This is annoying as when the sort icon pops up it moves the column heading causing a bad user experience. I have attached a picture of another apps data grid that allows leading sort icons, this is what I am looking for.
