execution stops on BusyIndicator.Show or sfdatagrid's BusyIndicator

hello I am using BusyIndicator control inside of an async function .

in case that the function takes long to complete the code stops on the BusyIndicator.Show function call.
some times I am receiving cross thread exception.
a lot of times I am receiving cross thread exception for the sfDatagrid control when show busyIndicator is selected.
any idea or workaround for this ?
