It could be a huge enhancement in performance if there was a SaveAsync-Method. Even though the process of saving must not be asynchronous it allows us to directly use the response stream of the ASP.Net Controller to save memory allocations and have a better TTFB without having to enforce synchronous IO-operations that are no longer recommended (see
).
It may also be beneficial to have a CloseAsync-Method to support objects implementing IAsyncDisposable registered via the DisposeOnClose-method.
