Support for PDF font fallback

There is a mechanism in PDF for using fallback fonts for missing glyphs.

There is a ticket saying this is currently not supported.

Can it be considered to add support for this in a future release?

(My use case: porting my code from iTextSharp, which has support for this but is no longer maintained)
