Custom Palette Items

I want to be able to drag a custom item from the pallete onto the diagram grid.  I was sent an example of this before uisng Treeview, but it does not work with the latest version of Syncfusion, also I can't find a way of disabling the default functionality for the drag and drop within the treeview.  I only want to be able to drag an item onto the grid.  Is it possible to create custom shapes in the pallete?  I want to display a list of blocks with a text inside them and drag them onto the grid.  Once on the grid these items will become HTML shapes.
