Set Higher Limit for DataValidation ListOfValues character count

In some languages it may require several words to express a short English term.

For example, I have a 15 element array that works in English, but causes a length exception when rendered into Spanish.

Could the current 255 character limit be raised one or two binary powers, say, to 512 or 1024?
