Drag and drop with template has small drop target

Using this simple example 

https://bvsatw.stackblitz.io which is the template demo example with drag and drop added, you should notice that the drop target is is small or off to the right of the node. Is there a class that needs to be added to the template to make it a drop target or was their a regression during one of the recent versions.  I do not take every version that becomes available. I would expect the entire template be the drop target. The documentation from what I can tell does not state a class is required on the template.

My team insists this issue recently happened after upgrading to a new version of syncfusion.
