Paging is required

My team is displaying massive datasets and the fact this control doesn't support paging is now a major problem.  The navigation tree is fine without paging, but the data (detail or icon view) needs to support paging in some capacity.  My users would be happy if it was simply a load more button after x items have been rendered. 

The issue is made worse if someone does a search that brings back a lot of entries.  

The query is fast so we know it's the control.  UI virtualization would probably be a good enough solution instead of true server side paging
