If the column that's defined as the primary key has a field that is a nested selected (e.g., "item.itemId"), then getRowIndexByPrimaryKey() always returns -1. Looking at the code for that method, it is because it's using square-bracket notation to read the primary key value, which doesn't work with a nested property. It would need to be split on the "." and each part added as a new square-bracket property.
