Value doesn't match the mask, not-masked literals and symbols are note stored in the value

I'm using the following mask:

>AAAA-0000
the objective is to get value like ABCD-0001 for example, the input is working but the value returned is for example ABCD0001

Please see the attached picture.
I don't know if it's by design, but I think that the normal behavior should be getting a value matching the mask
