Object reference not set to an instance of an object in designer (NET Framework)

When using the ColorPicker in the designer with the latest versions of Syncfusion.Shared.WPF 18.2.0.56 and now 18.2.0.57) when adding the ColorPicker, the designer notes the XAML and states '

Object reference not set to an instance of an object'.  When used in user controls, it prevents parent UI in the designer to not render.
It works just fine in 18.2.0.55 - so something broke between that and 18.2.0.56 for me.

I'm using Visual Studio 2019 16.7.2.
