When a table contains many columns, sometimes it's necessary to only highlight one column. Currently when trying to do this, all cells in other columns are also highlighted.

To replicate, create a table with multiple rows and columns, say 5 x 5. Then start in one column, hold the mouse button down/up and drag upwards to other cells in the column. You'll see not only the current column 's gets highlighted but also cells from other column.

This may be more of a feature request than a bug per say, but the desired behaviour is similar to what occurs in word processors such as Microsoft Office and LibreOffice Writer, and so users expect the same behaviour when using the editor.
