Resizing columns can be erratic

When creating a table with (we had 2 columns, 18 rows) resizing the columns can be erratic. We had a relativelly simiple table which had abbreviations in the first column and the description of the abbreviation in the right column.

When resizing the columns so that the first column was just large enough for its contents, we found that while dragging the column sizes jumped around while moving the mouse. We clicked on the line that separated the first and second column, held the mouse button in and dragged to the left.
