Adding Column level groupping DataFormat for date goes bad

Steps to reproduce 

Have a grid with Date Colum with format dd-MMM-yyyy then add groupping to any string column given in example 

https://ej2.syncfusion.com/aspnetmvc/Grid/Grouping#/material

Format for date column is not retained when Groupping for col is added 

Also it work if you just allow grouping but dose not mention any column name
