Summary rows and Milestones

Hi,

I have two questions regarding the Gantt chart.

1) Why are summary rows displayed as regular tasks when there are no child tasks? Is it possible to override this behavior?

2) We have noticed that milestones can never exceed a duration of one day. Instead of using a property it is always directly related to the duration of a task. Isn't this strange behavior?
We want to be able to convert existing tasks to milestones without changing the duration. Are you planning to change this in a future release?

Hi Oscar,

Thanks for showing interest on Syncfusion Products.

Regarding Summary Rows: This is default behaviour, when there is no child that task will be considered as normal task. You can override this by using the custom style for the nodes with converter. We have created a sample for this, please find the sample in the following location:

Sample: http://www.syncfusion.com/downloads/Support/DirectTrac/87365/GanttWithCustomStyle517980202.zip

Note: In the above sample we have used the convert in the custom style. By using the converter we have changed the template of the node based on some condition.

Regarding Millstone: As of now we are supporting the millstone only based on the duration, the task will get converted to millstone when the duration is 0. We will log a feature request on displaying the millstone based on addition field in TaskDetails and analyse about it. We will update you once we implement it.

Please let me know if you have any queries.

Thanks,
Sridharan S.

Hi Oscar,

Please ignore the sample update by us in the previous response, by mistake we have updated you with the WPF sample.

Please find the sample on Silverlight below. In this sample the style of task 24 and 25 will get changed based on its child count, on loading the Gantt.

Please let us know if you have any queries.

Thanks,
Sridharan S.
