Document Elements

Essential PDF supports various interactive features like Acroforms, Annotations, Attachments, Bookmarks and Hyperlinks.

An annotation associates an object such as a note, sound, or movie to a location on a PDF page. An annotation reveals a TootTip on mouse hover and performs the specified action when the user clicks the annotation-object.

Essential PDF supports the creation of the following annotations:

• Sound Annotation - Plays sound file
• Attachment Annotation - Opens attached file
• Uri Annotation - Navigates to specified URI
• Action Annotation - Performs specified action
• File Link Annotation - Opens file with specified path
• Document Link Annotation - Navigates to specified destination within document.
• Pop-up Annotation - Displays text in a pop-up window for entry and editing

Attachment of various file types to the PDF document is suppported on Essential PDF.

3D Annotations are the means by which 3D artwork is represented in a PDF document. Essential PDF can embed 3D files (.u3d) in PDF documents.
